For Grandma

We used your recipe and it came out wonderfully. Thats why half the loaf is gone before the bread even cooled!

Which grandmas recipe?

Grandma Ellsworth's. Remember all those warm loaves of wheat bread that came down the road to our house! It's just as good in white!

Hey Annie! Interesting tidbit of info for you. I live off of Ellsworth Road here in Mesa. Any relation? My mom keeps telling me that aunt Sharon was an Ellsworth and is from Mesa.

You should make french toast with that bread. I bet it would be delicious!

Yum Annie! Can I have some! I love that recipe too. We got a recipe at Enrichment Night that is supposed to give you two loaves of bread in one hour start to finish! Hmmm...it worked but it wasn't as good! Maybe I'll use it in a pinch someday.

Tell your cousin Gail that you are realted to Ellsworth Road. Grandma will have to tell you how though. I'm not sure which one of them it's named for or if it's named for the whole clan. Mesa has tons of roads named after early settlers. I grew up there you know and I always thought it was cool that they named a road after ME!

Guess what we have rising and ready to bake in our kitchen even as I type? It is a good recipe; we've really been into the whole wheat version lately. I know I said this last reply but I love you!

ps. there are a lot of Ellsworth Roads and even a church owned Ellsworth Park up on the mountain over Golden but we don't know who the Ellsworth was here they are all named after.

PS. Grandma says that it was kind of named after all the Ellsworths (a big group that was there all from the same great-grandparents... yours) that settled there around 1900, give or take. There are a LOT of streets in Mesa named for the original families that settled there.

And YES, french toast made out of that bread turns out way awesome!

Annie I am so glad your bread turned out good. It is so funny. I was in the kitchen making a batch of bread from that reccipe. and was thinking about you amd wondering if you had tried it yet. The recipe I mean. Gena called for me to come into the sun room and she showed me your post on your blog. There is nothing like warm, home-made bread and butter. Remember I love you and your sweet kids and, yes, Cory too.
