Let the extermination begin!

So if someone could market a product called Monster be gone they'd be a millionaire. Our poor little Trace has a monster problem that I'm not sure how to fix. About 6 months back we got what I thought would be a cute little book about a boy who learns not to be afraid of the monsters in his house (Learn from my mistake). Not a great idea folks. Trace is now convinced that there is a monster in his closet and bless his heart it scares him to death. I tried buying some lavender scented air freshner and calling it monster spray. I thought it would make him feel empowered and maybe the scent would calm him. To bad we woke up to him soaked in airfreshner. Ahh what fun! Any ideas?

Ewww, lavendar can be really strong! As for getting rid of the monster, this guy had a few decent ideas. Maybe have Trace help you catch the monster and get rid of it?

I think that you should read Where the Wild Things Are. You can make him king of all the wild things. I read it to Rilee and she got scared. I then explained to her that if she ever got scared she could be like him and tame them. I love that book!

i second that! i love that book!
yesterday i went to a little sleep party--how ironic, huh?
I asked the gal your question. she recommended a poster (ie. spiderman) or a toy that you can set somewhere in his room. Each night ask the object to please be sure to keep him safe and to protect him from any monsters. maybe that will help???? good luck!

What is a little sleep party?

I believe its a party about how to get your children to sleep through the night. Kind of like a tupperware party but about sleep!

yeah, it was really interesting. i didn't really know what i was getting into agreeing to go. i was told that some girl had designed a swaddling blanket and the news wanted to interview her--yes, i was famous (my legs at least!)

I have that swaddling blanket, and its my favorite way to keep Joey warm in her carseat! There's a whole in the back for the bottom part that goes between her legs. So you pull that through, strap her in, then swaddle her with the blanket. Much better than trying to wrestle a sweater onto her, and keeps warm air in much better than a normal blanket.
