We are blessed.

Yesterday Cory and I took our little family to church with his parents in West Jordan. It seems these days that anywhere we go we have to brace ourselves for little comments on our family. Things like "my your children are so close together, are you crazy?", "Gee you must be exhausted", and my all time favorite "Haven't you figured out how this happens?" It always makes me just a little upset but we try not to let it show. We simply smile and say that they are great kids and that we love them very much. So as we walked into church yesterday I was bracing myself for the typical comments and thinking about what my response would be. We had no sooner then sat in our bench then Brother Williams sat behind us and asked us how old they were. We told him 3, 2, and almost one and I braced myself for the comment that would surely come. But he totally suprised me, his response was "Wow...you two are really blessed!"

What a sweet man! It is so true. Our kids are so darn great! They have wonderful personalities and they play well with eachother and everyone else for that matter. Our whiney days are few and far between and we just love them all so much. We had not planned on them being as close as they are, but we wouldn't change it for anything. We just recently found out that I'll need surgery that will definatley be ending our family and I could not imagine how sad it would be not to have little Jax as part of our family. So long story short, I second Brother Williams statement, WE ARE BLESSED!!!

Well I believe there was a reason that you had those children so close. Not just anyone could do it. You are an amazing mother and I would just like to say that those children are blessed as well. I love those kids and I can't wait to see you all next week. Even more I can't wait to babysit. Oh yeah and you moving to Tooele will be wonderful too.

PS WHAT YOU HAVING SURGERY FOR????

The surgery is a hysterectomy. Because of everything that went on with Mom, and then Jalyn and Eileen, my doctor feels that it would best if I just went ahead and had one so that I don't have to go down that road too.

Amen Annie! You are very fortunate to have those sweet little ones. You know, now mattter where you live, someone will have something to say about your family. When we moved to Tacoma we took our family out for a Sunday walk. We had the four girls then and Sarah was in
6th grade. They were all three to four years apart in age so that wasn't the novelty. We got stares and people literally pointing with their fingers counting the size of our HUGE family!!! I got tears in my eyes and told Dee to take me back to Utah! Well, I am glad we stayed because we had many blessings there but geesh!

I am glad you are being wise about the surgery...wish I had such an excuse to get it done! And...was Kira kidding about you moving to Tooele? Just curious! Love you!

I guess I should jump on the bandwagon and leave a comment as well. I never thought you were crazy for wanting to have your kids and be done. I think you are brilliant and that your kids ARE SO LUCKY to have you Annie. I admire you so much!! Cory too, I guess... ha ha;) I love your kids-they are adorable!

P.S. I was thinking about my comment...I didn't mean the line about the excuse for surgery the way it came out! Of course I don't wish for the same reason you have to get it done...just at my age an excuse would be nice...don't have one yet :(

So...it's me...not Britt. I was signed in under her name somehow...sorry!

Of course I wasn't kidding! They are moving here as soon as I find Cory a job.

Annie, you tell the impossibly rude people who can't keep their comments to themselves that yeah, you know what causes it and, dang, don't you have the proof that you're so damn good at it! Take it from me (4 kids in 5) it's tough when they're tiny, it's busy when they're little, it's the best when they're older and it's the pits when they're all grown up almost at once and you have to face them going away. Enjoy them and remember how close you are to the Denver area....

LOVE, Gena

ps. can Kira find a job for a manufacturing/design engineer while she's looking for a job for an accountant?

Annie I haven't checked the blogs for a few days so I am late in commenting. But I wanyt you to know you don't have to justify your family to anyone. They are perfectly beautiful children and you can hold your head up in pride. Sorry to hear about the surgery but if it is best do it. The Doctor surely knows what is best for you. I love you so much. You mean the world to me..

Love Grandma
