Chop Sticks!

Tonight we tried a recipe for pot stickers that we found online and thought it would be fun to watch the kids with chopsticks. I was actually really impressed. Jaxson was just happy when things stuck to them, but Trace used them really well. It took about 3 minutes to get each bite to his mouth, but he did it. Kena got the hang of it too. All in all it was a very oriental evening!

What a suprise!

Today I was visiting with a dear friend, when her husband (Cory's co-worker) called and told us we should come over to work. They were having a party for the new employee and wondered if we wanted to join them. So we packed up the kids and headed over. The suprise was waiting for us when we got there. They'd planned a baby shower for Cory and I. I always knew that we worked for a good company, but they really are just incredible. The not only bought us diapers and clothes and all the typical baby fair, but they all pitched in and bought us a new play pen/bassinet. What awesome people! So this is a big shout out to the wonderful Accounting department of Union Telephone. You are ALL amazing!!

PRETZELS!!

My dear friend Liz shared this recipe with me and it was just to good not to pass along. I mean who doesn't love a big soft pretzel dipped in cheese or mustard!

1/4 oz package of yeast
1/2 cup warm water
1 T. Honey

Mix this ingredients together and let sit for 5 minutes to activate yeast

1 1/2 c. flour

Add this to the yeast mixture and mix (I found a little extra water may need to be added to make it all stick together)

Knead dough for 5-7 minutes and then place in a greased bowl for 20 minutes to rise.

Shape the dough into whatever shape you wish and then dip it in a solution of 1 T. Baking Soda and 3/4 C. water (You can eyeball it). Place on a greased cookie sheet and then sprinkle with coarse salt.

Bake at 425 for 5-7 minutes.

They are seriously soooo good! I hope you all enjoy!

Quick baby update

Looks like our little man will be coming into the world sometime after the first of May. My doc is going to check and see how things are progressing, then decide when to induce me! WOO HOO. I measure 40 weeks this week, so only 10 weeks ahead of schedule and to date I've only gained 17 lbs so maybe theres hope for a small baby yet!

A fun weekend

Trace and I in the woolen mills building playing peek-a-boo!
I could not stop playing with this horsey! He was so bouncy just like me!

Aunt Kaela came too and she and Sister had a lot of fun on the swings.

We even talked Daddy into getting into the train with us!

This weekend we went to Salt Lake to get some last minute baby things done while Mommy is still able to walk! Mom and Dad drug us through several stores and we were sooo good. No one even cried! We went to this big baby store and Mom was in heaven looking at all the little stuff. She ewwed and ahhed until Daddy said it was time to leave (something about us getting restless, whatever that means!) Then they took us to a big store full of couches and beds. We got to pick a mattress for Traces bunk bed and it was lots fun. But the best part of our day came last. Mom and Dad decided that since we'd been so good in the stores that we could play at the park! We ran and jumped and played for a whole hour before being so tuckered out that we could hardly walk back to the car. We got to go to dinner with Grandma and Grandpa later that night and it sure was tasty food. The grown ups kept complaining about the wait, but we didn't mind. There were balloons and games! There was even a giant "Red Robin" who kept shaking our hands. It was so much fun that we can't wait to go back!
